The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a report that casts doubt on the need for Donald Trump’s travel ban.
Although the report is considered “an incomplete product” by DHS, it could prove to stalemate Trump’s desire to resurrect the Muslim ban that was struck down by the 9th US District Court.
The 3 page report does not discuss whether it is effective to ban people from entering the US from the 7 predominantly Muslim countries noted in Trump’s original Muslim ban; except to say that immigrants from those countries have “rarely implicated in U.S.-based terrorism” and just the fact that there are citizens of those nations is an “unreliable indicator of terrorist threat to the United States.”
