Two-year-old Venezuelan toddler can’t afford medicine due US sanctions on Venezuela

Two-year-old Venezuelan toddler, Isabella, has a congenital disease and needs a liver transplant to survive. Her family moved to Argentina for her treatment but she can no longer afford the necessary medication. The costs were previously covered by the Simon Bolivar Foundation, funded by Citgo.

The funds have been blocked since the US announced the introduction of sanctions against American subsidiaries of Venezuela’s state-run oil company PDVSA which include Citgo.
