Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 Conspiracies – Still Missing After One Year

One year after Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 disappeared, en route to Beijing, with a total of 239 passengers, there is still no sign of the missing Boeing 777.

Malaysia?s transport minister Liow Tiong Lai has stated that he remains hopeful that the search for flight MH370 will produce results. However, the Malaysian government have now formally declared the case an accident and the 239 passengers are presumed deceased.

Meanwhile there are plenty of conspiracy theories that attempt to explain the disappearance of flight MH370. Here are a selection of just some of the theories……

Vladimir Putin Hijacked Flight MH370

A US science writer, Jeff Wise came up with the Vladimir Putin hijack theory based on the so-called “pings” that the plane emitted for seven hours after it went missing. He reckons that the plane’s hijackers “spoofed” the plane’s navigation data to give off the impression that it flew south, while the plane was being flown north and landed in the Baikonur Cosmodrome, which is leased from Kazakhstan by Russia.

404: Plane Not Found

By coincidence the aircraft that was used for flight MH370 just happened to be the 404th Boeing 777 to come of the production line. The same number that is used for an online error message when a webpage cannot be found, known as a “404 error”. Many interpret this as some kind of hidden message about the fate of the plane.

US Military Shot Down Flight MH370

A former French airline director investigating the disappearance of flight MH370 claimed American fighter jets shot down the plane after discovering it had been hijacked and was going to be used to attack the US military base on the Indian Ocean atoll of Diego Garcia.

A book called Flight MH370 ? The Mystery, suggested the plane had been shot down by accident during a joint US-Thai military exercise in the South China Sea. According to this book, as part of the cover up the search and rescue efforts were deliberately sent in the wrong direction.

Flight MH370 Life Insurance Scam

Malaysian police refused to rule out the possibility that the entire incident may have been a complicated insurance scam. Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar Malaysia’s Inspector-General of Police has been quoted making the following statements: “Maybe somebody on the flight has bought a huge sum of insurance.” “We are looking very closely at the video footage.” “We are studying the behavioral pattern of all the passengers.”

Flight MH370 Hijacked by Afghans

According to a Russian newspaper, the Boeing 777 was hijacked and flown to a small village in Afghanistan. Quoting a military source, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper stated “Pilots are not guilty; the plane was hijacked by unknown terrorists. We know that the name of the terrorist who gave instructions to pilots is ‘Hitch’. The plane is in Afghanistan not far from Kandahar near the border with Pakistan.”

MH370 and MH17 Were The Same Plane

There has been speculation that the airliner that crashed in a field in Ukraine was in fact the lost flight MH370, not the scheduled flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. Believers say that the plane ended up at a US military base Diego Garcia, within range of where the MH370 disappeared and then deliberately crashed near Donetsk by US agents months later in a “false flag” operation designed to discredit Russia.

Alien Abduction Responsible For Flight MH370

Many believers have pointed to a number of recent UFO sightings in Malaysia as evidence for extraterrestrial intervention, including footage of radar data that has shown unidentified objects in the vicinity. In a recent survey of US citizens, 5% believe that the plane was abducted by aliens.

So, what exactly did happen to Flight MH370?
