The Bilderberg Group started its annual four day conference on Thursday, June 11th, in the Alpine resort of Telfs-Buchen, in Austria. 140 of the worlds elite gathered at the exclusive resort for a conference that claims to have no detailed agenda, with no resolutions proposed, and no votes to be taken on any topic.
As usual the meeting is closed to journalists and just about everyone else not on the guest list. And to make sure that no uninvited visitors gets anywhere close, the Austrian authorities have imposed a 31-mile exclusion zone around the five-star Alpine resort, with plans to deploy over 2,000 police officers. Additionally, the military has been cited as stating that radar is in position and Kiowa helicopters armed with machine guns would carry out patrols.
While the Bilderberg Group officially claim such meetings are to foster dialogue between Europe and North America, most conspiracy theorists are convinced that such events, attended by some of the worlds most influential people, have an entirely different purpose.
This years guest list includes NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg, Deutsche Bank supervisory board chairman Paul Achleitner, German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen, the Netherland’s Princess Beatrix and Goldman Sachs chairman Robert Zoellick.
According to organizers, some of the topics to be discussed this year include chemical weapons, the Middle East, Russia, cyber security and artificial intelligence. However, when 140 of the worlds richest and most influential people meet under the tightest security possible, for meetings that no journalist can attend, no wonder speculation arises around what is actually being discussed, or organized, behind those closed doors.
