Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order this week that will remove climate change from consideration when the government makes major decisions; such as approval for pipelines.
Not only will this executive order reverse Obama-era approaches to dealing with climate change, but it goes as far as to remove government-sponsored environmental reviews from being a factor in decisions that affect the oil and gas industry.
Known as the “social cost of carbon”, this definer set forth by President Obama was previously used to gage the potential economic damage climate change is expected to cause in the foreseeable future.
